The Mountains are Calling – Postponed to 2022

(Billings, Mont.) The mountains are still calling but they are a little further in the distance than
what we originally heard. Montana Agri-Women (MAW) is excited to host the American AgriWomen (AAW) convention in 2022. The convention was originally set to take place November
of 2020. Like most large-scale events, the organizing committee, due to the COVID-19 restrictions
and health concerns of our national membership, was forced to postpone the much-anticipated
convention.
“Our main concern is, of course, the health of our members and attendees, but we would be remiss
if we also did not take into account the economic impact facing those of us in agriculture,” said
Meghan Foran, MAW President and Convention Co-chair, “given the current hardships we know
we would not be able to produce a quality convention that our speakers, sponsors, and attendees
deserve”.
Attendees can expect to have the same quality speakers and activities originally slated for this fall
to take place in the year 2022. MAW members are working diligently to provide a convention
worthy for all involved and that work will continue into the year 2022. The convention is sure to
showcase what Montana agriculture has to offer as well as timely speakers and experts aimed at
expanding attendees’ knowledge.
Virtual convention plans for this fall are currently in the making, the national organization will
present information on that in the coming days. The 2021 AAW convention is already confirmed
as “Adventure Awaits” a cruise convention departing from New Orleans, LA. Follow AAW for
information regarding those details.
Since 1995, MAW has been a voice for truth for agriculture with members spanning all Montana
commodities. MAW stands to educate our members on the important issues involving the
agriculture industry. They use that knowledge to provide the industry with a strong public relations
outlet.
MAW is an affiliate of AAW. AAW is the nation’s largest coalition of farm, ranch, and
agribusiness women with more than 50 state, commodity, and agribusiness affiliate organizations,
united to communicate with one another and with other consumers to promote agriculture. AAW
members have been advocating for agriculture since 1974.
