The Friends of the Poor Walk is September 29th in downtown Billings. While we have walks to support just about anything and everything in Billings, this walk meets a lot of needs.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is the sponsor for the walk. You may think of SVDP as simply an organization that has a couple of thrift stores in Billings. That is only a small part of the work the charity does.
Daily, St. Vincent de Paul volunteers deliver meals to shut ins, provide resources to help the working poor in Billings and Yellowstone County get back on their feet, and hand out food for homeless. You'll find volunteers at SVDP working to help anyone struck by poverty in our area.
And they also run two thrift stores.
The charity provides employment (they have two jobs available
right now). More than 900 families are helped each month by the work of St. Vincent de Paul.
You can join the walk, September 29th at 10am at the Charitable Works Office of SVDP at 2610 Montana Avenue. Register online here
